Discover Tripolis

Tripolis owes its name (Tripolis = “three cities”) to the three ancient cities of Mantineia, Tegea, and Gortyna. The city is located on a high plateau at an altitude of around 670 meters in the center of the Peloponnese and is surrounded by even higher mountains.

Tripolis is the capital of the administrative region of Arcadia. Here, major roads from all directions meet, making the city the main transport hub of the entire Peloponnese. With around 30,000 inhabitants, Tripolis is also the economic center of this otherwise sparsely populated region, thanks to its central location.

The capital of Arcadia is an excellent base for exploring the natural treasures and sights of the surrounding area.
