Located on the southwestern coast of the Peloponnese, just north of the charming village of Marathopoli and in immediate proximity to the sandy bay of Langouvardos, lies the estate Esperides by the Sea. Only 20 m from the sea and offering private access to a small rocky cove, the property boasts magnificent views of the Ionian Sea and blends harmoniously into the natural surroundings.
Set on an extensive plot of land, the estate consists of five terraced houses arranged side by side and facing northwest – the perfect orientation for enjoying breathtaking sunsets over the sea. The thoughtful layout of the houses ensures privacy and is ideal for guests seeking peace, relaxation, and their own personal retreat. The sparsely populated environment enhances the feeling of tranquility, accompanied by the soothing sound of the waves.
Built in 1985, the Esperides houses were renovated in 2008, 2018, and 2023. The interior is simple, colorful, and warmly designed, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Outdoors, earthy tones and natural, local materials dominate. From the front terrace with garden furniture, guests step directly into the garden, which offers wonderful views of the sea and coastal landscape – and direct access to the water. The living room with a sofa and two single beds leads to the open kitchenette, the bedroom, and the bathroom. The living room provides direct access to the covered front terrace with stunning sea views and a Mediterranean setting, while the bedroom opens onto the rear terrace.
The shared garden invites guests to relax and sunbathe with loungers and hammocks. The barbecue area is perfect for convivial evenings. Fresh vegetables, homemade olive oil, and sea salt complement the offerings. For active guests, six mountain bikes and fishing equipment are available on request. Beach towels and umbrellas can also be provided upon request. A separate area of the property houses a shared washing machine and dryer. For younger guests, there is a playground on the spacious grounds. A property where families and those seeking tranquility will feel equally at home.
The southwestern coast of Messenia offers numerous sandy beaches with crystal-clear water – from long sandy stretches to small, hidden coves. The nearest beaches are among the most beautiful in the region. Nearby Lagouvardos Beach is a long, wide sandy beach surrounded by pine trees and an impressive mountain backdrop – ideal for swimming, surfing, canoeing, snorkeling, or fishing. Other beaches within a 20 km radius include the iconic horseshoe-shaped Voidokilia Bay, Goldcost (Mati) with fine sand, and the picturesque coves of Barlas, Vromoneri, Petrochori, and Romanos.
Allocation of the houses is arranged on-site by the owner. The photos shown are sample images from the property and may vary slightly depending on the house. Houses 2–4 feature private outdoor showers, while houses 1 and 5 share the communal outdoor shower located on the grounds. Next to House 1, guests will also find a charging station for electric vehicles. Payment is made conveniently via an app.
Additionally, all guests may use the swimming pool of the neighboring campsite during the summer months (usually in operation from mid/late May to late September) . Access is granted with a small purchase, such as a coffee or a drink.
